23 Phra Phuan and Phra Phaeng were deeply anxious

24 Ruen and Roy went to see the two Princesses
And found them filled with gloom as if unwell.

Laksanavadi

10 In due time King Mansuang, the mighty ruler of Suang, asked for thr pretty and noble-born Laksanavadi to be the chief consort to the handsome Phra Lo. In attendance to her were ladies-in-waiting and an assemblage of serving women. When his father departed to the higher realm, Phra Lo ascended the throne. His exquisite looks were endlessly praised by gods and men alike. The sublime beauty of Phra Lo had none equal on earth.

His eyebrows were arched

King Mansuang

8 Uuon hearing the news of King Mansuang leading a large army against his land, King Phimphisakhon readied his force to withstand the attack. Hosts of fighting men followed their King. The two forces clashed in battle, swinging and slashing with their long sabres, wielding swords and cutting down the enemies. Some threw spears and others thrusted lances at their foes. A fierce battle was fought on the left side. On the right the struggle was intense. Brave and bold men lunged and plunged at one another, engaged in the fight to bring the enemy down. Their shouts and cheers for victory were deafening. Canons boomed, reverberating and shaking the ground. Both sides profusedly exchanged shots and fires with their cross bows and fire-arms. Men against men. Beasts against beasts. Horses veered and shfted while their riders fought with javelins. King Phimphisakhon, in the thick of battle, was cut down atop his war elephant. His commander intercepted, rescued the body of the alain King, and pulled back safely within the city walls. The gates were secured against the enemies.

9 Prince Phichai Phisanukhon took command of safe guarding the city and successfully withstood the attack. King Mansuang then returned to his kingdom. Prince Phichai ascended the throne and performed funeral rites for his father. The King put his two daughters into the care of the dowager queen. Accompanying the young Princesses were two able maids whom he named Ruen and Roy, to be their companions. The Princesses since then resided with their Grandmother.

4 When recited the verses are pleasing to the ears.
Their beauty is beyond comparison,
Having been compsed to be sung
To the enjoyment of the gracious lord.

เกลากลอนกล่าวกลการ กลกล่อม ใจนา
ถวายบำเรอท้าวไท้ ธิราชผู้มีบุญ ฯ
5 Once lived a brave King by the name of Mansuang who ruled over the city of Suang. His beautiful consort, Queen Bunlua, was of royal descent. He was attended by a great number fair courtly ladies, each with her own retinue. Courtiers and officers thronged before him, while his forces were sered by valiant warriors, hardy steeds and mighty elephants. His repute was enhanced by his dominance over numerous vassal states. His young son, Phara Lo, had an earth-shattering fame. The city of Suang was in the east.

6 In the west there lived another great king, the supreme ruler of Srong, called Phimphisakhon. Both Kings possessed equaly great wealth. The King of Srong had a son, young and gallant, whose name was Phichai Phisanukhon. When the prince came of age, the King sought and found a maiden royal lineage to be his consort. She was called Daravati, who possessed much grace and beauty. The Prince wedded her whose fairness pleased his eyes. In time they had two endearing daughters, Phuen and Phaeng, whose beauty could compare to that of the moon. Their beauty was so perfect in every way that it enchanted all.

7 King Mansuang bade all his vassals to come and hold council. Said he " The King of srong has become powerful. War should be waged soon to bring Srong under our sovereignty".
Troops were quickly assembled; commanders proceeded with his army from the city. They moved on directly towards the battle ground. Men, horses and elepants spread out far and wide over the feld.

Eulogy of Ayutthaya ( Ayutthaya Literary Work ) 1 May glory, success and victory prevail over this supreme and universally renowned land. all countries on earth are in awe of its ruler"s might a ruler who conquers all surrounding nations.

Such northern people as the Laos have been slain, their heads severed, their bodies strewn over the battlefield. The KING enjoys his success as a ruler who is endowed with a properous land and a happy people. Ayutthaya is a magnificient city resplendent with the nine gems, a joyous city, noblest of all, as if it were blessed by the gods.

The gaiety and fun there are beyond description. It has won admiration and praise from all.

ระเรื่อยเกษมสุขพลู ใช่น้อย

แสนสนุกศรีอโยธยา ฤาร่ำ ถึงเลย

3 Since men and women alike are well versed in the arts and scences,

I shall recite a tale of Phra Lo, a noble Prince,

In fine and well chosen words.

As the soothing sound of the Pi Lu pipe.
