4 When recited the verses are pleasing to the ears.
Their beauty is beyond comparison,
Having been compsed to be sung
To the enjoyment of the gracious lord.
๔ สรวลเสียงขับอ่านอ้าง ใดปาน
ฟังเสนาะใดปูน เปรียบได้
เกลากลอนกล่าวกลการ กลกล่อม ใจนา
ถวายบำเรอท้าวไท้ ธิราชผู้มีบุญ ฯ
5 Once lived a brave King by the name of Mansuang who ruled over the city of Suang. His beautiful consort, Queen Bunlua, was of royal descent. He was attended by a great number fair courtly ladies, each with her own retinue. Courtiers and officers thronged before him, while his forces were sered by valiant warriors, hardy steeds and mighty elephants. His repute was enhanced by his dominance over numerous vassal states. His young son, Phara Lo, had an earth-shattering fame. The city of Suang was in the east.
๕ (ร่าย) กล่าวถึงขุนผู้ห้าว นามท้าวแมนสรวง เปนพระยาหลวงผ่านเผ้า เจ้าเมืองสรวงมีศักดิ์ ธมีอัคเทพีพิลาส ชื่อนางนาฏบุญเหลือ ล้วนเครือท้าว เครือพระยา สาวโสภาพระสนม ถ้วนทุกกรมกำนัล มนตรีคัลคับคั่ง ช้างม้ามั่งมหิมา โยธาเดียรดาษหล้า หมู่ทกล้าทหาร เฝ้าภูบาลนองเนือง เมืองออกมากมียศ ท้าวธมีเอารสราชโปดก ชื่อพระลอดิลกล่มฟ้า ทิศตะวันออกหล้า แหล่งไล้สีมา ท่านนา ฯ
6 In the west there lived another great king, the supreme ruler of Srong, called Phimphisakhon. Both Kings possessed equaly great wealth. The King of Srong had a son, young and gallant, whose name was Phichai Phisanukhon. When the prince came of age, the King sought and found a maiden royal lineage to be his consort. She was called Daravati, who possessed much grace and beauty. The Prince wedded her whose fairness pleased his eyes. In time they had two endearing daughters, Phuen and Phaeng, whose beauty could compare to that of the moon. Their beauty was so perfect in every way that it enchanted all.
๖ (ร่าย) มีพระยาหนึ่งใหญ่ ธไซร้ทรงนามกร พิมพิสาครราช พระบาทเจ้าเมืองสรวง สมบัติหลวงสองราชา มีมหิมาเสมอกัน ทิศตวันตกไท้ท้าวอคร้าว ครอบครองยศ ท้าวธมีเอารสราชฦาไกร ชื่อท้าวพิไชยพิษณุกร ครั้นลูกภูธร ธใหญ่ไซร้ ธก็ให้ไปกล่าวไปถาม นางนามท้าวนามพระยา ชื่อเจ้าดาราวดี นางมีศรีโสภา เปนนางพระยาแก่ลูกไท้ ลูกท้าวธได้เมียรัก ลำนักเนตรเสนหา อยู่นานมามีบุตร สุดสวาทกษัตริย์สององค์ ทรงโฉมจันทรงามเงื่อน ชื่อท้าวเพื่อนท้าวแพง จักแถลงโฉมเลิศล้วน งามถี่พิศงามถ้วน แห่งต้องติดใจบารนี ฯ
7 King Mansuang bade all his vassals to come and hold council. Said he " The King of srong has become powerful. War should be waged soon to bring Srong under our sovereignty".
Troops were quickly assembled; commanders proceeded with his army from the city. They moved on directly towards the battle ground. Men, horses and elepants spread out far and wide over the feld.
๗ (ร่าย) เมื่อนั้นไท้แมนสรวง พระยาหลวงให้หา หัวเมืองมาริปอง ว่าเมืองสรองกษัตริย์กล้า อย่าช้าเราจะรบ ชิงพิภพเปนเมืองออก เร่งบอกให้เรียบพล นายกคณชุมกัน ครั้นเทียบพลเศิกเสร็จ ท้าวธเสด็จพยุบาตร ลีลาสจากพระนคร คลี่นิกรพลพยู่ห์ สู่แดนศึกบมิช้า เดียรดาษพลช้างม้า เพียบพื้นภูมิน ฯ
